What is the best codec to use?

In our opinion, Xvid is the most suitable codec.

If you are interested in excellent recording quality, and the size of the obtained video does not matter, you can choose, for example,Microsoft Video 1. That codec does not use compression, and you will get excellent recording quality, although the file size could be humongous.

We believe Xvid is the most suitable because of its recording quality and file size ratio. Although artifacts and image distortions may appear once in a while, the overall quality is excellent, and its test result files are rather small.

In any case, we recommend you to take some time prior to testing and check out the operation of various codecs to pick the best one for your needs.
